A second facility is currently under construction in Barcelona, centrally located in a data centre hub (Parc de l’Alba) in the metropolitan area of Barcelona.

The data centre will be a 50 MW colocation facility, prepared with the potential to support high-density racks for HPC. Supplied with 100% renewable energy, the data centre will satisfy the needs of hyperscalers, large enterprises and other organisations that require extensive computing capacity.

Cooling setup

High-efficient cooling technologies:

  • Average pPUE 1.10 (liquid cooling)
  • Average pPUE 1.23 (chilled water / air cooling systems)

Rack density:

  • Up to 12,3 kW/rack (perimeter cooling )
  • Up to 50kW/rack (immersion cooling)
  • Up to 80kW/rack (liquid cooling)

Power setup

  • 50 MW of power available at the plot
  • 3,2 MW IT-load per data hall
  • Electricity spot price: €0.16/kWh
  • PPA long-term power supply contracts directly with the supplier (optional)

Technical setup

    • Parc de l’Alba (Cerdanyola del Vallès) 15 minutes to Barcelona
    • Temperatures: cold season 3-16°C/warm season 19-26°C
    • Data centre campus within the Collserola Natural Par
    • Direct connection with Barcelona Cable Landing Station
  • Colocation
    • Data centre campus with separated IT buildings and an open-space design, with flexible data halls, divisions, compartments and enclosures
    • Total IT space available: approximately 7,000 m²
    • Number of racks: 3000 u. (based on 60 cm racks)
    • Dedicated IT spaces for high-density liquid cooling on demand
  • Redundancy/Resiliency:
    • Tier 3: 2N redundancy in power and fibre. N+2 in cooling
    • Back-up power (UPS, HVO Gensets, double power feed)
  • Connectivity:
    • Carrier-neutral data centre
    • Expected one-way latency values:
    • Expected connections to IXPs in Oslo and abroad as well as direct connections to the main cloud providers
    • Private line ethernet services on request
    • Cross-connects within the data centre on demand
  • Services and operations:
