Platform Global 2023
Network. Transact. Invest.
Platform Global Markets. 2023 – the annual global conversation for investment and expansion in data centre, digital infrastructure, power, sustainability & ESG.
Our Head of Data Center Investments, Carl von Hessen, will be part of a panel discussion: Private Equity & M&A
When: 04th of September 2023, 11.15 – 11.45 (CEST)
This session will focus on the following: as an institutional investment class, pricing for core data centres is becoming extremely competitive and many more investors are entering the space. Acquisitions and multiples – achieving up to 33x – have accelerated over the past three years. With funds closing billions of dollars, cash deals have been at the forefront of M&A activity. Owners of neutral, multi-tenanted data centre platforms, sometimes across several countries are well placed to leverage uptake by enterprises in the post pandemic period. And targeting enterprise and government customers, they may become targets themselves for, or drivers of, consolidation.
- Do the current multiples add up? Are we likely to see even more stratospheric valuations?
- Why primarily attracts investors to data centres?
- Many of the acquisitions that have taken place are in the US and Europe. Which geographies do you see in the next phase of M&A?
- Do you foresee multiples and values increasing further?
- Is Edge the next big M&A play?
- How do you evaluate risk in terms of the data centre as an asset class?
- What are the key drivers of value in the sector?
We are looking forward to meeting you in Antibes.

Sustainability & ESG Forum
Sustainability & ESG forum by Platform Markets Group – on the 5th of September
Platform Global, Antibes, is the leading data centre infrastructure investment forum serving the global data centre and ICT industries.
We are proud to contribute to the ESG and Sustainability Forum being held on Day 2 of the program, on the 5th of September.
The event will seek to provide the route to Net Zero emissions in data centres, the enterprise quest for sustainability, policy and ESG. The event shall discuss how reasonable public policy can influence sustainability, an integrated approach to sustainability of end-to-end digital infrastructure and action now to mitigate carbon emissions in digital infrastructure.
“Our vision is to lead in decarbonising the colocation and data centre industry,” commented Henry Daunert, CEO, AQ Compute. “Our mission is to provide modular, carbon-neutral data centre capacities across Europe, powered by renewable energy sources, following green building standards, recovering and recycling the energy and compensating for each MW used with another MW of renewable energy – enabling our clients to reduce their carbon footprints.”
Based on feedback from 2022, delegates rated the Platform event and programme as exceptional with leading speakers, curated content as well as the enormous benefit of high-end networking. Delegates preferred this event too because of its ease of access among those attending enabling very specific targeting and hosted in the secluded and incomparable French Riviera resort of Antibes/Juan-les-Pins on the edge of the Mediterranean yet located only 23km from the facilities of Nice International Airport.

DCD Connect, Silicon Valley
DCD > Connect | Silicon Valley is the West Coast’s leading hyperscale data centre forum, bringing together the industry’s thought leaders to discuss ongoing trends, forecasts, and activities.
The data centre, its ESG credentials and its status as a “good neighbour” are constantly being critiqued from both outside and inside the industry. But how can the two narratives be reconciled as the internet acquires “indispensable” status and the growing “carbon footprint” associated with powering and cooling digital infrastructure is offset by operators increasingly guided by responsibility to people, partners and the planet?
Our EVP Sales, Patrick Giangrosso, will be part of this panel discussion: ESG and the data center – an irreconcilable relationship?
